Star Wars: The Force Awakens-themed 'First Order' Stormtrooper

The latest addition to Hasbro’s six-inch action-figure series comes from the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The San Diego Comic Con exclusive Black Series First Order Stormtrooper will come in a special commemorative packaging, available only at the 2015 San Diego Comic-Con, and will later be available online in limited quantities.

Shock Troopers clad in white armour first appeared on the galactic stage during the opening battles of the Clone Wars. Clone Trooper armour became iconic almost immediately; its stark white design stood for hope that peace and stability might be restored to a galaxy at war. But this dream of peace died with the Republic, and the Empire that rose to take its place imposed order by any means necessary. Soldiers within the Grand Army of the Republic were given a new name: Stormtroopers. As these former protectors of galactic peace mercilessly crushed resistance across the galaxy, their white armour came to symbolise oppression and the indomitable power of the Emperor’s will. Yet the tyranny of Imperial rule sparked rebellion, and the Stormtrooper legions were scattered in the aftermath of the Empire’s fall. Now, the rise of the First Order ushers in the next chapter in the Stormtroopers’ legacy as a new era of ruthless brutality begins.

The Black Series First Order Stormtrooper set, apart from the highly-detailed and fully-articulated 6-inch action figure, contains a rifle, a blaster, and ‘Evolution of the Stormtrooper’ booklet which details the changes in armour design from the original Clone Trooper to the new First Order Stormtrooper.

More of Hasbro’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens-themed toys are expected to be released on the aptly called ‘Force Friday’, 4th September 2015, according to the toy manufacturer.

This fully-articulated 1/12 scale action figure stands 6 inches (15 cm) tall and sells for around $25 (£16/€23).
