Faster Than Light - the story of man’s first voyage to the stars

In the very near future the problem of faster-than-light travel is finally solved. Suddenly, the whole mind-bogglingly vast universe is wide open to us, and the story of humanity’s first thrilling and terrifying adventures to the stars can begin in earnest. But, notwithstanding the technological prowess, is humankind ready for what they will find?

This is the premise of the new comic book series from Image Comics with the story written by Brian Haberlin and art drawn by Brian Haberlin and Geirrod Vandyke.

The publisher describes ‘Faster Than Light’ as having “the idealism of the original Star Trek and the grit and immediacy of Gravity”.

According to the publisher, every issue contains features supported by a free augmented reality app, which makes the comic look like interactive holograms are coming out of the pages of the book. Brian Haberlin is not new to this field, having previously co-written Anomaly – another sci-fi graphic novel featuring augmented reality, created in co-operation with Hollywood lawyer Skip Brittenham.

Faster Than Light #1 is scheduled to be published by Image Comics on
9 September 2015.
